To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You arborphobes make me sick

Bowm chica bowm bowm

This friend of mac's that we have over today. Not a bad kid, but I will not miss him. He challenges me on things when I ask them to stop or to leave somewhere and even when I answer questions or make informational statements. He is super competive about stupid things which is not great for mac, a bit of a know it all.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happiest of birthdays, Plei! (Until the next one, and the one after that, and so forth, but may this one be the happiest so far)

I've de-leafed and partly de-mossed the backyard, taken out the recycling, put a tiny dent in the giant mountain of paper on the kitchen table, cleaned all the counters, fed and amused and read to Matilda, and gotten her down for a nap. And now I'm not really sure what to do with myself. There's a ton of Glee on the Tivo, but I don't want to turn the TV on. Too cold to sit out on the porch, too early for a drink...oh. Oh! She's sure to be out for at least the next hour, and Hec and Emmett won't be back for at least that long. I believe it's time for a midafternoon Lush bath bomb bath.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I hear you. I got up and cleaned this morning, which was a mistake because then I had nothing to do all afternoon. (Why is it all I want to do at work is play on the internets and on weekends I lose interest?) We've walked and stuff, but it is HOT outside, and I don't want to spend any money so I can't go shopping. (Chair hunt notwithstanding, it'll have to wait for the next paycheck regardless.) I made taboule but I can't think of anything to make to go with it. I also went through the cupboards to discard expired stuff and/or things I just know I'm never going to eat. Now what?

Read. Watch a movie. Make some muffins or scones for tomorrow morning.

Heh. I'm already wearing like 14 colors on my nails (I haz the box!). I am going to make some sort of sauce out of the three or four ginormous portobellos I got from the CSA this week. But you reminded my I picked up the dvd of The Outsiders a few weeks ago when it was in the $5 bin somewhere or other. Maybe I'll pull that out.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I helped DH out today by working a military parade sponsored by his work. The bonus, I got to drive a golf cart from the parade site back to the golf course after the parade. I felt like a 10 year old but it was pretty sweet.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

mostly I did dishes , run the dishwasher , emptied the dishwasher, did more dishes and made dip. DH did a lot of paper shredding . I am also declogging the drain in the tub. Oh, and I did sweep. Mostly I've poked around on the internet. We have a house concert to night, and I might do a bit more, but I might not

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I've swept most of the house. Need to figure out what I'm serving for brunch tomorrow and whether I need to buy anything. Unfortunately I'm having an anxiety attack or something, maybe just overcaffeination? I'm watching the World Cup on Univision and feeling my heart pound.
