It's the lasagna.
Clearly if we fixed the lasagna we could stop the BP oil leak.
What's the best lasagna you ever had?
My best was an incredibly complicated recipe made by Emmett's godfather, Frank. It had two kinds of sauce, one made with sauteed chicken livers and the other a bechamel. So rich and flavorful.
I KNOW!!! Canned tomatoes, sure, but tomato SOUP?
That woman must suck like a Hoover. It would explain a
lot.
There's also an Amy in Sondheim's "Company." Really, you're in luck if you have any one of the women's names in that musical. So Jenny, Joanne, Sarah, Susan, and Amy.
I'm rather fond of the lasagna at Johnny Cascone's at 91st and Metcalf.
zuisa, the winner of the Dem primary for Senate in SC (who won 60-40) was a come-out-of nowhere unemployed guy who never campaigned, never ponyed up any money for the race other than the $10,000 filing fee (and it's wondered where he got the cash for that), and yet still managed to beat a seasoned pro who was out there campaigning. It's thought that he might be a Repub patsy who won because SC has open primary voting (you don't have to declare your party to pick a ballot) and the Repubs got their people to vote Dem to get this guy on the ballot in November up against Demint.
A good friend of my mother's makes the World's Best Lasagna. (Capitalization totally necessary). I can't cook, so I couldn't tell you what in the world she does to it, but it's amazing.
Amusingly, she doesn't think her lasagna is that good. She's convinced that the first time she brought it over my mother starved us all for days and so it's some deep-rooted psyhological reaction. But... for real, it's fantastic stuff.
Clearly if we fixed the lasagna we could stop the BP oil leak.
I'm not sure you're thinking visionaryishly enough. If we *used* the Sandra Lee lasagna, we could stop the leak with it. Leave the horrendous legacy of tomato-soup pollution in the gulf stream to future generations; it's the American way.
Kathy, that's some crazy stuff!! I'll have to be better about following the news again. I used to be so good about it, and then the oil spill got too depressing and I just stopped.
But someone winning a primary without campaigning is just insane. I mean, my friend's father is mayor of their town and he wasn't even on the ballot, but there's like 12 people in their town. It was a hilarious write-in prank. Winning a primary, though? That's...... weird.
Best lasagna I've had was made by a chef from northern Italy who settled in my hometown and started a restaurant in the late 80s. The red sauce was savory rather than sweet, with lots of herbs and very finely ground meat. It spoiled me for most other people's lasagna, which is sad since he no longer serves it.
An ex-boyfriend use to make awesome lasagna. I went on the pill when we started getting busy, and I put on weight. So he stopped making it for me and put his energy into banging his ex. Helpful soul.
I still miss the lasagna.
