OK, WTF? I get to my hotel, and the guy at the desk is like "OH! Are you the one we just gave directions to?" and I tell him no. Fine.

I get to my room, and ...ok, I take off most of my clothes, cause it's more comfy. And a minute later, someone knocks on my door. So I have to put my clothes back on. And it's some random woman who's like "Are you the one I just talked to?". Um, NO?

A minute later, my phone rings. WTF? "Hi, this is (name), calling from the Captain's Lounge, are you the one I just talked to in the hall when I was going to do the dishes?" NO! Ferchrissake people, let me eat my dinner and surf the net and watch SYTYCD in peace! I AM NOT THE ONE! (Er, unless The One gets lots of cash. Then, yes, I am The One)

Oh lord, excitement. I heard a beeping going off, went to investigate, coming from the vacant house 2 doors down. As I'm contemplating calling 911 (just because it was freaking annoying, was ignoring the whole "burn down the block" thing) hear firetruck and wait to see if it is headed here. They pull up. Alarm system went off, probably due to heat and humidity. Alarmingly, the french doors are unlocked and they can walk right in (they locked it when they left.) Anyway, met my local firefighters and they were very nice. I fear they got a little too much cleavage in the tank I'm wearing, but when a firetruck pulls up, I'm not thinking must get more presentable.

Really not happy about unlocked house. I know mine was while it was on the market (Ben and Anna patrolled it.) Guess we have to do the same with this one. I've had no luck googling the owner listed on property search.

a) this is not flattering cleavage. This is it's-hot-and-this-is-small-and-keeps-things-dry and b) this was your standard handlebar mustache potbelly older crew. Which, admittedly, they are adorable, but I'd like to appear as somewhat credible and not eye candy. FTR: not all firemen are hot. Nice, maybe, reassuring tonight, yes, but not hot.
