We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

In the 4th-to-bottom row of hat pics, there's a terrific grey-and-white striped hat that I'd love to wear.

10 minutes left and Switzerland is leading Spain 1-0. Huge upset if the neutral crew holds on.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If Switzerland had cheerleaders, would they look like Swiss Miss?

Compassionately intolerant

I love the gentleman's swan hat...clearly he's accustomed to 'swanning about'...except I fear it might be an actual swan...in which case, ew.

'Minotaurs The New Vampires' Says Publishing Executive Desperate To Find New Vampires

NEW YORK—In a desperate effort to find a trendy new fantasy subgenre to succeed the ebbing vampire craze, Razorbill Books executive Graham Childress decided this week to throw all his professional weight behind a new series of novels featuring minotaurs, the bull-headed, human-bodied creatures of ancient Greek mythology. "Everywhere I go, I hear people talking about minotaurs," Childress said at a publishing conference, frantically trying to drum up enthusiasm for the planned trilogy about a bad-boy minotaur who transfers to a new high school and eventually falls for the one girl who can see the pain and sensitivity behind his brooding exterior. "Plus, labyrinths are really hot right now." The first installment of Razorbill's minotaur series is slated to hit shelves on Dec. 14, the same date three rival publishers will release novels featuring a bad-boy mummy, a bad-boy cyclops, and a bad-boy Mayan vision serpent.

The Swiss pulled it off. Huge, huge upset.

Awesome. Good to see that Spain's tradition of not living up to expectations is holding up.

Could aliens clean up Gulf spill?

Local alien expert and initiative proponent believes advanced alien technology exists

Local alien expert Jeff Peckman would like to beam assistance to the Gulf.

He says the answer to the Gulf oil disaster may lie in sophisticated extraterrestrial technology.

Peckman, who is running a Denver ballot initiative that would create a commission to study extraterrestrial affairs, says whistle-blowers have pointed to advanced alien technology that could achieve the kind of environmental cleanup that is necessary to handle the Gulf disaster.

“More recent messages coming from this direction or that direction have affirmed that there are such technologies in existence that could be made available to us once there is open contact, acknowledgment and diplomatic relations with these advanced extraterrestrial cultures,” said Peckman.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Yes, but even in that scene, the message is essentially that racism is bad because it means white guys can't fuck hot Polynesian chicks without people looking at them funny. At no point does the play ever address the fact that racism primarily hurts people of color.

Well, there is also the whole, "I can love him and his kids even though his kids are bi-racial" plot as well. I don't know that Nellie's journey is so much one of, "Emile should get to fuck hot Polyneisan chicks."
