hip deep in pie

There aren't any more giant Jesus statues to burn -- I wonder what will get whammied tonight?

Apparently the tanker pumping oil from the BP spill got hit today.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I posted on Facebook about my annoyance at Storm, Part Deux.

I found out that the Reds game had the top deck of seats evacuated because DX posted on my status to say that he saw it because he was watching the Reds game online.

I love the internets.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Apparently the tanker pumping oil from the BP spill got hit today.

First the Jesus statue and now this. Okay, which deity are we dealing with, now? It's hard to know what to sacrifice when they're so unclear.

I was loving Trudy's description of New Yorkers earlier.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The Mets brought their short game tonight. They have seven infield hits.

Because books.

Last-minute runs make me nervous. Phew. Mets win!

Just ran into something weird. WRT to the oil spill, talk from a Brit about how OMG anti-British sentiment in the US!! I was all buh? Not really seeing it or hearing it. Anti-corporation, anti-gov't, anti-moratorium (omg, parish or something president on NPR after the speech had one note and oy, fanatical!) sure. I go out looking in the media, and most of what I see is on British media sites, Brits bemoaning being slandered and their reputation being hurt and the random USian going buh? Not seeing it. In the US media, I saw an article referencing brit media's tempest, but more than that? NSM.

Seems mostly taken from the President referring to BP as "British Petroleum" which if you want to spin it for US audiences, was, if anything, meant to emphasize Petroleum given our psycho relationship with Big Oil. But apparently segments of the UK media are hearing the emphasis on British.

I'm just confuzzled. I'm sure there are loonies out there, but c'mon. BP is a multinational, third owned by US factions, at least. It's just weird.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's weird. A lot of British folk are complaining that all our BP-bashing is forcing BP's stock price down, which has the result of a lot of British folk seeing their pensions decline in value. So they see it as an attack on them.

But that would happen regardless Happened here to Enron, Exxon, etc. Maybe we in the US are more aligned to that being the nature of fortune.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, I just turned on the game, and NO GOOD for the Celtics. I can't watch.
