Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Kat - we had a great time. Weather was gorgeous, I completely geeked out, and the kids didn't seem to embarrassed. No, correct that, they were headbanging along...woooooooooooooooooooot!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

This is me resisting trying to grab 6666.

Oops.

[whine] I slept about 3 hours last night and came in to a "We must skype now!" message from a coworker in Pretoria. She wanted to change the entire design of the website I'm building for them. The site that's launching next week. Oh, and I can I do that without delaying launch? No. No, I can't. And even if I could, I wouldn't because people should not change the entire site design (colors, fonts, headers, menu location, etc.) a week before launch, so unless the current version causes puppies to spontaneously combust she can suck up and deal with the design she and all her higher-ups approved months ago.

Then I got to sit in a 2 hour benefits meeting where the visiting speaker tried to convince us that our health insurer was our partner in health. So we needed to be sure to send in as few claims as possible for the insurer who will be raising our rates 10% next month to try to weasel out of, cause that weaseling costs time and money and they'll just have to raise rates again next year if we keep expecting them to, you know, cover stuff. I kinda wanted to tie her in a sack with a couple dozen hungry mink. Bet her insurance doesn't cover that, either.

So, on the upside I have a job and bennies, but my diamond shoes are rubbing up some blisters here and there. [/whine]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We were talking about Jamie Oliver here a while back - here's a guy whose trying to do the same thing about school lunches, but without being an obstinate douchebag about it:

Always Anti-fascist!

Concrete Jesus seems like one of those things KO would use his mock-Cronkite voice and "report" for Oddball. (I don't know who's the bigger geek, there. Him for doing it, or me for recognizing Uncle Walter impressions despite being very young when Cronkite hung up his press pass.) But I think that is really funny, anyway.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Can I just mention that I am wearing my new shoes today and they are totally stylin'? Cause I am and they are. [link]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

OK, I didn't resist very hard.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

From the site Tom linked, I love this dress. [link] Pretty sure Sela Ward wore something similar in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.

Trust my rage

Does anyone know if you can see streaming World Cup online without paying ESPN? Because I really want to watch Brazil play.

I'd also be happy with audio only, if it exists.
