Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OMFG, AD is my sister's SPN. We are at loggerheads. She might win, because everyone says that starting with the Charlize episodes is the worst ever, and her SPN issues are more insurmountable. But we face off regularly on the "well, I won't watch your show because you won't watch mine" front. And still send each other crap about them.

Well, that is true. But mostly I was asking Beth about AD because I loaned her the DVDs.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I tried the Newsweek thing and nothing happened. Is it Firefox? Or the fact that I'm on a Mac?

I tried it in IE7 on a PC and it worked for me. Dunno.

This would be a cruel cliffhanger for Annie, if anyone cared.

AHA! I had to turn off the "start to search when typing" function. Now I see it. Hee.

Our wings are not tired.

AD is my all time favorite comedy, but the Charlize eps are the weakest point of the series. It's also not a "background" show where you can have it on, glance occasionally, and get pulled in by the occasional zingers. You need to pay attention to it since it's so heavy on the callbacks and development. But, it's probably not for everyone.

Has anyone heard of a British show from the early 1990s called "Waiting for God"? Charlie gave me the series for my birthday and I've never hoid of it.

brillig

"Waiting for God"--crotchety old folks in a retirement community. Pretty funny and sometimes wrenching.

Everyone is right - Charlize was an unusual low point for that show. (It wouldn't surprise me to hear that the writers figured out about halfway through that the plot was a dud, but had to finish it anyway because Charlize was contracted for X # of eps.)

ION, Dylan has discovered how to launch Plants vs Zombies on my iPhone. May he and Owen never meet.

[eta: He's not very good at it, but it doesn't seem to bother him. Every time the zombies get to the house, he says "I'm going to play the zombies again!"]

Connie, that's about what Charlie said. He LOVES it. I'll give it a try. But I hated Golden Girls, so I hope it's not like that.
