CTA should be fun today. Blackhawks rally, Cubs/Sox "Crosstown Classic" and Blues Fest.

They're also broadcasting the first World Cup game in Daley Center right now, with about 500 people watching on the jumbotron they have set up. WGN radio had the pastor of the First Congregational Church (the one in the skyscraper with the steeple on top) call in from his steeple view of Daley Center about an hour ago, and he was saying that the game was in halftime and there was a mariachi band playing to keep the people entertained until it resumed.

brought green bean casserole. I’m sure that we looked hilarious, this very polite southern black family poking dubiously at the casserole and sneaking glances at one another.

Hah! It's true. You were all very skeptical. You neglect to mention you had a pregnant sister in law from North Dakota also attending. She was all for it! :) I think you were all afraid it was made with *canned* green beans. Which would be gross.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

They changed when our show airs. Now it looks like it will be on July 7th, which is good as it is my mom's birthday! Also good because we are going to be at the in'law's 50th anniversary weekend when it was originally supposed to air, and I did NOT want to watch in the same room as my nice but horribly tactless father-in-law. My BIDs are bad enough--I don't need someone pointing out when I look bad onscreen and why.

Batman would be a horrible mother

Supes would be GREAT though.

msbelle totally beat me to it! LOVE this.

Ok. Grace got on the bus without crying or puking. And I rode my bike to school with my watermelon helmet and my starbucks cup in my water bottle holder. I'm such a cliche.

Yeah. I don't know what she does at school all day and she can't tell me either. I wish I could just go in and watch what is going on.

Because stalking your own kid is perfectly normal? It would be for batman.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, now I'm wondering if anyone's written fic where Batman has Superman's baby and then there's an emergency so Batman and Superman have to leave the bat!baby in the care of Bat-Mite and then Bat-Mite loses Bat!baby at the carnival and all sorts of wacky adventures ensue....

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My University has a policy that they do not pay late fees. Ever. For any reason.

I want to institute this policy for myself. I don't see my various utility companies going along with it, though.
