We're watching hockey and Olivia just asked to learn how to play. Squeeeeeee! But she wanted to make sure they made her sized skates because her feet are so tiny.

They do! and we have them. Noah wears a toddler size 6/7 and we have skates that fit him.

Oh no. Katie missed the last game because I made her go to a orientation and is she ever pissed at me.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay, that was hysterical. The neighborhood is just flooded with dogs - it appears that every single dog owner was making the dog wait for the end of the game, because we didn't go 15 yards without running into another dog. Too funny.

[And Darb did awesome with all the noise and banging and bright lights. I was wondering just today if I needed to be concerned about July 4, since this is the kind of neighborhood where people don't go to the lakefront, they set off the fireworks in all the intersections in between cars. Had a little taste of that tonight and she didn't bat an eye.]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, I did something really stupid today. I went to Cost Cutters and got a terrible haircut. It is so bad that the only thing that could fix it would be to shave my head! I hate it so much I don't want to leave the house! I think I will be wearing hats for the next month.

Hair tragedy! If it's not too short you can probably get a fix. How short is it?

Our wings are not tired.

It's awesome that Darby is fireworks mellow!

I feel the way Maria does; if it couldn't be the Flyers (boyfriend and CEO will be sad, but considering they got Phillies WS, I don't feel too bad for 'em), I am happy it's the Blackhawks.

And Liese is cute.

Took the dogs out for a hike and Cayenne managed to spend 3 minutes orgastically (sp?) rolling in...a dead gopher. YUCK. She's had two baths already and still stinks. Little craphead.

It's about an inch long in spots, maybe 2.5 at the longest spots. The only thing I can do is try to cut it all down to that length and start over.

I wish you could see my agast/sympathy face. Poor you...happy Cayenne.

Bartleby once took 3 full body dives into the fluid effluent from the bottom of a trash truck on a summer's day years ago. Oh. My. Everloving. God.

Given the number of baths so far, I suspect the effect is roughly equivalent. I say again, poor YOU!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

When Dallas was a tiny puppy and we lived in, well, Dallas, we'd have bigass thunder and lightning what felt like every day.

The first time it happened she SHOT under the bed and I dragged the poor squirming critter out and took her on the porch and cuddled her. The next time I played with her. By the end of the week when storms started she'd run to the door for playtime.

Well, you know I endorse this strategy but maybe give it a week to settle down and see what you can do with product.
