So that's my dream. That and some stuff about cigars and a tunnel.

Nice Msbelle. What are you doing with your pink fridge?

I am all at once amazed and appalled by that floor.

I am appalled that it does not make words.

still going to use it as a pantry in the kitchen. It is going to be a tight fit, but will go near the table.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I would spend hours staring at that floor, trying to find all the words.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I think I am going to paint the hallway that leads to upstairs. It doesn't need to be scraped or anything, and it's a fairly small space and it's just...dull.

It'll allow me to practice my painting techniques, I'll be able to do it in a couple of days, and it's a small, connecting space, so I can paint it a fairly dramatic color.

I'm thinking a nice clear, bright turquoise. I have picture frames and some small, round mirrors in my registry, and I would like to hang those up there.

My biggest debate now is should I paint the risers, also turquoise, or just repaint them in a clean white? The steps themselves are a golden hardwood, and I won't paint those, but the...backsplash? what would you call that? to the steps are painted a dingy, scuffed white.

As an owner of an older house, please seal/varnish/clearcoat before painting. Signed, wants to return my banisters to their original wood someday, but likely badly paintstained.

That's a good idea. ALL of our wood floors need resealed, but that won't happen this year.

The steps, that can.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Erin, my vote is for gilding the risers and stencilling them.

Because that's what I did. [link]

(I'd actually vote for a crisp white on the risers with an accent stencil in color of the hall.)

oh pretty!

The only stairs I have are two, I think in the garage up to the now mud-room to the house. I may put polka dots on them.
