Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm mildly disappointed that my LJ isn't displaying in Russian.

Capitalist running dog!

eta: Although I've never understood what was bad about a running dog....

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Relevant to the "positive thinking" discussion: The Just-World Fallacy.

It is common in fiction for the bad guys to lose and the good guys to win.

It’s how you would like to see the world- just and fair.

In psychology, the tendency to believe this is how the real world actually works is called the Just-World Fallacy.

More specifically, this is the tendency to react to horrible misfortune, like homelessness or drug addiction, by believing the people stuck in horrible situations must have done something to deserve it.

Minutemen Founder Accused of Threatening Family With Guns >[link]

I saw that headline, was dismayed, eventually remembered that one of them has been dead for a while, got even more confused, and then realized, oh hey, they aren't talking about the band, are they. The guns should have been a clue. Reading the article would have helped.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I need a new car. The driver side mirror fell off on Saturday. It's not even possible to replace the whole mechanism as they don't make it anymore. And it would cost $100 for just a partial fix. Whole van's not worth $600. I have a good 260,000 miles on it, so I figure it's done its job and we're under strict instructions not to do any more major repairs.

But it worries me, just waiting for it to break. I would rather buy something now so that I have both, and can use the van for hauling. Something with better mileage, but that can still handle my dirt roads. That I can put a kayak rack on.

This is what I want right now, but it's probably wrong of me to want it just because it's a black Impala. I mean, it's a newish black Impala. It has no real resemblance to the black Impala. But still.

And I kinda don't want a car payment. We haven't had one in aeons because these have all been company cars.

I am only in the sense that I'm positive bad things are going to happen.

Ahahaha! Ah, Frank. Never change.
