ugh. mac's school sent home a note on Friday "hey Tuesday is a half day and next week Thursday is. surprise!" did they think to remind us that THIS Thursday is no school at ALL?!?! no,no they did not. JC on a Stick. Well, I've got coverage for him tomorrow with a friend with kid. And we will take their kid on Thursday so they won't have to pay for a day of care. That means I am working from home all day though. Guess I need to talk to the boss man tomorrow.
we had a good night though. I can manage all if we have good time together.
Someone else mentioned it before me, but, yeah. It's a great get-people-into-gaming-mode game. Plus, it's easy to learn and quick to play.
One of my most baffling gaming experiences was playing Pit with people who
stopped
and
thought
about what they were doing. They would take at least ten seconds to decide they were going to offer "two"! I was sitting there gritting my teeth and thinking "Were you raised by jackals? Sloth jackals?"
Glad tonight was good.
As for cat stuff, I could probably get my regular housesitter, but I am feeling so tight with money right now, going to see if I can cobble together shifts of my neighbors nearby (who have offered before, my cats ...ok MK and Loki... are attention sluts) and the also-near newly married couple and roommate in exchange for dinners or labor or something. Otherwise it would be a few hundred bucks.
I tried giving sylvester children's benadryl as suggested by the vet. I did not even get 1/4 of the dosage down. feh. I want to test it before the flight as he tends to meow the entire time in the carrier.
also, the cat struggling against me upset mac. tears at everything right now.
We played tons of euchre in university.
I practically minored in euchre.
Card games with regular cards: do you guys play Up and Down the River?
In college, as a drinking game.
(Yes, there's a theme here.)
I *love* Balderdash, but people hate playing with me because my powers of bullshittery combined with my wordnerdery lead to my TOTAL BALDERDASH DOMINATION.
May I tag?
Hee. That Pulitzer Prize is looking less and less likely, so I'll take whatever validation's on offer.
