A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Cool, flea.

My idea of what is scary and biomom's idea are very different, so I try to be respectful. But he is 8, and I think if his dad okays it, then she will just have to suck it up. She thinks "Ghostbusters" is too scary, but doesn't have a problem with "Family Guy" which I think is kinda fucked up. I do NOT think FG was appropo for a 6/7 yo.

I don't think we'll do him any favors by sheltering him too much.

So, Harry Potter #1 and #2 this summer, and original Star Wars, and Ghostbusters. YAY fun summer movies!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

megan - I would have an issue if playing WITH my brother, but I did fine at this casual social event. I swear.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I'm not so sure Family Guy is appropriate for me.

and tense is not the same as scary. suspense is sometimes hard for kids ( ok I know adults that can't do suspenseful) but in a non-theater setting they should be fine

They had an epiphany and decided the Adolph Hitler card could work with any other card

Heh. We feel that way about Hellen Keller, usually.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

there is no scoring to do

Then it's not a game!

Apples to Apples is one of the few party games I don't like, specifically because of its subjectivity.

I've never heard of it. But then, I've had problems with the subjectivity some people apply to Scrabble. Forget Balderdash. It's a minefield.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Then it's not a game!

I should have said adding. It is scored, but in a very basic way with pictures that little kids can handle better.

Forget Balderdash. It's a minefield.

Yeah, then you would not like Apples to Apples for sure.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It is scored, but in a very basic way with pictures that little kids can handle better.

you know what I wish?? I wish I could use my Touch as a flash drive. I should be able to store Powerpoints and documents for my classes on it.

Le sigh.

Harrumph. Little kids need to grow up.

I'm still holding a grudge against the people that scored against me in Balderdash because I said a lycanthrope was a werewolf and a doppleganger was a double. Apparently a lycanthrope is someone who (because they're mentally ill) thinks they're a werewolf, and a doppleganger is a ghostly double. People, get out more. Read different sorts of books. I'm sure in another ten years I might get over it. Maybe.

My mom is just now getting around to arranging summer travel for the nephew. Which means that in less that 2 weeks I need to be flying out to pick him up. Which, fine, but jesus that is soon and I've just got a lot on my plate, damnit.
