OK, sorry about the name suggestion. Already has one and Darby is a cool name.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Cutie Darby!

You should just add "Terence Trent" to her name and let it go...

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

She's wandering around getting a feel for the place.

How is the cat dealing?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It rained for about 60 seconds here, then it stopped. The temperature has dropped about 10 degrees, though.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

She's about two or three, so given that I haven't been struck with inspiration, the name will likely stick.

So far she doesn't seem interested in the cat (or the cat's food) which is all to the good. But is likely also a factor of still being a little freaked at new places/new people.

This org, Project Rescue Chicago, got her from a traditional shelter, then she was boarding at a daycare for a while. In either case, not much human contact, so they got her into a home and said it took about two weeks for her to get comfortable and warm up, after which she was sweet and warm. The rescue people were all "no really, please believe us!" Makes me wonder if people backed off from her before because she wasn't all cuddly.

She's definitely shy, but not scared or flinchy or anything so I think getting settled shouldn't take too long. She was with the fosters for about two months, but from her paperwork it looks like she's been in shelter/foster since at least September. Poor wee girl.

Cat is displeased, but not hissy or anything. She's hiding under the bed at present, but she was doing that for three hours before she got here, so.
