Well, if we followed the recipe...should be cake. A demon-violence-free-zone cake.

The status is NOT quo.

At my university the standard is that the course is the property of the school but your individual power points etc are not. So if you developed a course on Pediatric Nursing, and you left, we could still use the course, the description, the outline, syllabus. In practice, most of the teachers leave everything, but also take it.

This is what I would think is fair. The reason behind the "business owns property" model is to protect the interests of a business, but that logic doesn't follow in an educational paradigm. Teachers are actively encouraged to be part of an intellectual community that goes beyond the school, and we do not start fresh at each new school. The language of the contract suggests that "data" on the school server becomes the school's property. I will be deleting all of this data and backing everything up solely to my own hard drive from now on.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Where is this video?!

Skimmer.

I didn't listen to the audio of the CK hoodsurfing video, but him hoodsurfing? He's the doof that removed 17 stitches himself a week or so after getting them put in his face.

Yes, well, given that the two events occurred in the reverse chronological order, I wasn't surprised that he took out his face stitches.

After consulting with amyth (each remembers what the other doesn't), our fannish breaking up with CK had something to do with him being a drunk slacker and coasting on the con scene for his music and never putting out a second album and being so publicly "1/16th Cherokee" (which he's now upgraded, apparently) and wearing way too much turquoise jewelry and hitting on some of our friends in a skeevy manner.

Again, YMMV.

Because books.

Skimmer.

Oops!

That's not JA driving. That is, however, one dumb boy being reckless. Oh, CK.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Pix, deleting the data from the school server doesn't change the fact that it may be the school's property. Changing where you store your backups won't undo anything if the info was previously on the school server.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yeah, rewatching, it's not JA driving. Sorry. Somebody said in comments that it was his voice from the backseat, which is probably where I got the idea.

I would take out my own stitches... it ain't hard. And the damn things itch.

CK might be a drunk slacker, but I would be too if I could get away with it, so I can't fault him for that. I think he's grown up a bit in the last couple years, though.

Sorella, thanks for the link. That's really infuriating. I don't plan to sell my lesson plans anyway, so that's not as much the issue for me--it's more the idea that the business office is trying to tell people leaving that they are NOT ALLOWED to take "the school's" intellectual property, which includes anything they've backed up the the server--which is everything since they helpfully gave us laptops with automatic back up this year. I'm disgusted.

They can take me to court, then.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's been two weeks since my husband had his job interview. They said they'd let him know in "a week or two". He's done pretty well at not stressing about it constantly. I am not doing so well. I've halfway convinced myself it's a bad sign that we haven't heard anything, and I'm starting to make myself nauseated with the obsessing.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Pix, I looked through my University's official policies, and I don't find one specifically about teaching output, every rule is about actual inventions and such. I think it is so understood that a professor/teacher would both take their lectures with them AND most likely share, if asked, with the next instructor of that class.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
