Punishingly Intricate

Why are people looking at me???

Because you look fiiiiine. I imagine. Also, cutout shirt at work would be a pearl clutcher for me too! What was she thinking?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

5 times we almost nuked ourselves by accident

I never heard of this one:

The SL-1 reactor was an experimental reactor run by the U.S. Army near Idaho Falls, Iowa. On the night of January 3, 1961, heat alarms went off. Nearby emergency personnel made their way to the scene. They could not reach the control room for more than an hour and a half because of high radiation levels. When they did, they found two victims, one clinging to life (he died not long after). Even after being removed from the reactor building, the corpses themselves were so radioactive they had to be buried in lead and concrete tombs.

The worst was still to come. Several days later, rescue crews found the third operator. He had been standing atop the reactor when the incident occurred, and the force of the explosion had blasted a control rod up and through his chest, pinning him to the ceiling.

Yikes!

hivemind - I have to make brownies for mac's school. I do not have a disposable aluminum thingy. Could I make them in muffin tins and pop them out? round brownies?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm wearing two black socks from two different pairs.

We are secret sock sisters. Mine have lace tops. The rest of my outfit is so not about lace.

Because you look fiiiiine.

I'm worried it's my boobies. In combination with you know, lipstick and earrings, I might be a little more femme than usual.

What was she thinking?

What I'm thinking is that I can't wear a corset to work. Hmmph.

Brownies can't be round. The corners are part of the thing.

Or perhaps I'm just bitter because both my tea latte and my coffee cake are too sweet for me this morning. And the guy one cube over is singing "I've got work to do" off key. And I'm self-conscious.

OH AND MY HEAD HURTS LIKE A BITCH AND I NEED TO ASK MY BOSS FOR MORE WORK TO DO.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Have people seen the Ft. Worth city council dude "It Gets Better" video. It's unbelievably awesome and tear inducing. [link]

And what's with all the carrots?

SF for a gay two-stepping convention

Fun! We have Friday-night theme nights similar to this at our local glbt bar where the wife works on weekends. Yet another reason to visit cousin Javachik in SF!

round brownies?

They pre-package brownie bites in round shapes and the kids love them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, the Two-Bite Brownies they have a Whole Foods are round, but smaller than a standard muffin tin. Why not bake them in a regular thing and then transport them in a tupper?
