Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, Kat, how aggravating!

The are still digging out there.

I'm trying to figure out a solution. Like could I get Grace's bus to drop her off somewhere else in the immediate short-term? Like could I get them to take her to Noah's old daycare provider?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Ugh, Kat. I hope you can find a solution.

I didn't get anything from Amazon. Could it have gone to work instead of home? I can swing by tomorrow (or put in a half day of work, or whatever) to check on that.

Dude, you turned BRIGHT RED and had trouble breathing within 30 seconds. Yeah, scary!

I know. I am really sorry about that part.

Yay Perkins! Well, yay on having one session down, not yay on the reaction, because -- STOP THAT NOW.

I am going to try!

edit: a reminder to sign out next time

Perkins, I just checked their website. The carrier had delivered it to the wrong sorting facility. It should be there tomorrow (it's in SFs sorting facility now according to tracking info). Do not go into work! And it was your home address, for sure, since I don't know your work address.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Kat, I'm sorry to hear about Grace's nurse needing a week off. I hope you find a solution that works for you soon.

juliana? You don't sound like you ...

Feh. She was signed in on my computer and didn't notice.

Sorry Juliana!

I had to actually YELL at my supervisor because she went off on a tangent that had nothing to do with the meeting we were having, and gentle redirections were not working. As in "D! There's a time and place for this discussion! THIS IS NOT IT." Loudly.

You are, once again, my hero. I think I could arrange a fundraiser for you to come teach my supervisors how to run a meeting. There are three of us who start trading exasperated looks but we are lowly minions.

Of course at today's meeting it was the client, who we have to listen to even when she's proposing that we develop an app for this survey that would work on smartphones (all of them, obviously) and then the respondent could just transmit this ( HIPAA-protected! ) data to us and surely any 16 year old kid could whip that together. And there was even more that made it stupid but to sum up: GAH.

Strega, this is someone reknown for keeping on topic in meetings. I was aghast at her behavior today. So my reaction was shock, to some degree.

OTOH....

Though I have become a middling minion, I don't have patience for wasted time, especially before noon. So even had I not been running the meeting, I woulda been that one shouting it out.

Luckily, my crew is pretty forgiving. I think. She does do my annual review.
