Honestly, I'd attributed a lot of Taylor's drive and focus to her dad. And he is responsible for a lot of it. But her mom is really the other half. She thanked me again for being a mother-figure in Taylor's life when she couldn't, but the thing is? She was. I'm more the auntie-figure.

I'm so grateful that Taylor's dad for some reason thought I was a teacher all those years ago and asked me to help her with stuff, even after I disabused him of that notion. If not for that, I'd not know her, and that would make me a poorer person.

information libertarian

I just got home and mr. flea is upstairs snoring like a lumberjack. He's so loud I don't think I'll even be able to get to sleep on the couch. Ugh.

ION genealogy so fun, here is my great-grandmother when she was 3 or 4: [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm more the auntie-figure.

But that is still important and awesome. You really have helped shape Taylor into the amazing person she is and is still becoming.

Because books.

What Cass and the others said, sara. What you've done for her, and what she's done for you!, is a fantastic thing.

I want them both to be more bad-ass, please.

yes, they're spy-lite, and it's annoying. They need to have more edge. The various accents are amusing in their terribleness. And Leo is FUCKING ANNOYING. he's useless and only serves to remind them/us that they had a life before each other.

You know, when your sister seems to forget your birthday yet again, it's nice to have so many well-wishers here and on Facebook. Thanks everyone!

Aw, Megan, I'd missed it with my crazy unday. Happy bdays all!

I hope I didn't just freak out my sleeping neighbor: went up on the porch roof to clear out leaves in anticipation of coming rains. Also? all the incandescents seem to have a one year life, they are all dying at once. Been up on a ladder every night since the weekend. Need to go buy a handful more of CFLs. Bought a bunch when I moved here (a lot of the lights were dead.) I prefer Incands, but really? Yeah. Better to do the CFLs...

Aw, I'm trying to think of an appropriate thing to say in French for you, megan, but ... my French isn't that good.
