I don't even know what "stop the purple" is supposed to mean.
I just mean, lots of those tutorials say stuff like put one color on your lid, then a darker color to the crease, then light color on the inside third, or whatnot. But I don't have the crease, so I don't know where I should put the darker color or whatever. But then I came across a few other things that said I shouldn't use that color order anyway. Which makes some sense, because that puts the primary color on the lid, which on me is almost always completely concealed.
Okay, I would have to draw the line at any makeup technique that requires me to aim a hair dryer at my face.
I've been trying to figure out how to get my eyeliner to stop leaving smudge marks on my upper lid but none of the tips (from friends or youtube) have worked, thus far. Stupid oily eyelids. (Yes, I've tried different eyeliners.)
Ooooh! I know this one! I had this exact problem my entire life! Have you tried Urban Decay's 24/7 liner? It Does. Not. Budge. [link] About 30 seconds after you draw it on, it just stays where it is. No more smudge marks on my upper lids. It's BRILLIANT.

It requires no hairdryer.
I aim my hairdryer at my eyelash curling thingie. I swear, I've had the convo with bon before...

Not to mention WTFSEALANT.

Especially since I don't use a hairdryer, although I think I have one somewhere.
I'm thinking about a Sephora trip to reward myself.
I went to Ulta today entirely because of this conversation. And bought new concealer and foundation and two new nail polishes.
hairdryer aimed at eyes
sorry not my planet
Not that I wear makeup for anything other than Halloween anyway...
I have to say, having to basically rethink all my eye makeup after conjuntivitus, led to a big improvement.
My reflexive reaction is "WTF? Where am I supposed to get a hairdryer?" But, you know, now I've thought about it.
My extremely fancy eye makeup techniques are
all
about shading like I'm drawing shadows on my face, which is why I'm all "Stop the purple? I only use brown and beige." No crease stuff, just highlighting the brow bone and darkening the...the dippy part towards the bridge of the nose.
