Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

THANK you, Matt!

At the very least one would think you could proceed to trial on "I've never met this woman in my life" "Yeah, then why do you have her engagement ring, several IDs, and 15 years worth of photos in your possession?

I mean, I get that the whole thing was a bizzare object lesson on WHY IT IS BAD to not test rape kits. There could be a worldwide multi-decade serial rapist we could be catching!!@!!!! Uh, sure. That's why.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy 10/10/10, everyone!

Ten, ten, ten, ten, let's sing a song of ten. How many is ten?

I've always seen makeup as decorative rather than imperative

I am amused because I went and spent $100 on makeup today, thanks to some recs here--I bought three different lipsticks/glosses, a benefit concealer kit that included eyebright and boi-ing, and the Blinc tubes mascara! I am wearing all of those right now (yes, all three lip colors, I got bored and am testing them out).

That said, normally, when, say, going to work, I wear no makeup. Maybe some colored chapstick.

When going out, I normally wear some smashbox green primer stuff, eyeliner, sometimes mascara, and lipgloss.

I'm trying to work up to foundation, but it freaks me out and makes me feel like my face is covered up. But I've developed creepy circles under my eyes, and my skin is still not even, so...I want it.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Right. Batman. Dur.

Woke up at 1:30 to the distinctive sound of my cat prying the front door open with her claws... And she succeeded. Which means I hadn't locked the door. And that's the second time today that happened. WTH, brain? I also hadn't taken out my contacts. So thanks, Xusa.

Except now I can't get back to sleep. ::sigh::

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Mostly because I have no idea of how to apply it.

Go visit Ple and Jilli in Seattle.

This is a good plan. Come, let us teach you the ways of eyeliner!

I think I would give up mascara before lipstick. But truthfully, I'm not about to give up either. My daily makeup routine is, at absolute minimum, concealer, translucent powder, liquid liner, mascara, and dark wine lipstick. (If there is enough time, there will also be three to four shades of eyeshadow. And maybe shimmery powder.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I just fiished a tech rehearsal-- I think I want to die. This is a weird meara

If there are any theatre peeps around, I am wondering about something. In non-equity houses is the time for getting into costumes (1/2 hour) included in the 10 out of 12 time, or in addition? So if you are working 12 -12, are the actors called at 11:30 for costumes with a 12 go, or at 12 with a 12:30 go?

Msbelle-- I have never heard of that beer, but that is really interesting. I was talking to students today who were complaining that no one knew where Rochester was (or thought it was in New Hampshire-- isn't the more famous one in Minnesota?).

The Jared Leto vid was interesting, but I thought she looked more like him without the wig. Or at least more like Jordan Catalao, which is my image of him. She also looked a lot like Diane Farr.

When I was a teen, I swore I would NEVER be a person who wore just lpstick, like grownups, but alas, I tend to do that. I wore full makeup daily from 6th grade until about 3 years ago when I started wearing my glasses regularly, and my hands started to be not quite steady enough for good eyeliner under thick glasses These days I do foundation, cream blush and lipstick, but I never reapply throught the day and I am sweaty, so i general, I think I look like I wear no makeup. I would never leave the house without wearing lipstick, though, it makes me feel naked!.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Sophia, I've never experienced a non-equity 10 of 12. For equity 10 of 12 is literally the amount of time the actors are called, so any costume, hair, or makeup time is included within that time span. So... noon call for 12:30 start.

Thanks, aurelia. Not to be a pain, but is there some sort of semi standard for non-equity work that you have noticed at all (I kow lights is unaffected by costume call, but I am trying to gather data). I feel like e are trying to emulate equity, and just failing miserably-- and I think my designer who hasn't worked non-equity in a long time is about to explodiate.

Also, I have to be back at the theatre in less than 6 hours. Why doesn't anyone think of the costumers!?!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I`m so excited we`re having the makep conversation right now. I wore my contacts and full makeup to perform tonight and I got a ton of compliments. I kinda feel like I have to because the stagelights at this temp location are so hot. I got generic compliments, but also some very specific stuff like, right color, right proportion, done to perfection. I was very chuffed because I was so worried about it.

I don`t wear mascara or eyeliner, because I get sweaty and prone to tears whilst emoting. But I did concealer, foundation, both mineral powders, and blush and three shades of eyeliner. Oh, yeah and lipstick, which I worried was too much, but they said no, it was right. I was very happy with myself. I only did it all because I was already wearing contacts from the swim. But I felt pretty!
