Yogurt and cheese both have less lactose than milk -- a lot of people who have mild lactose intolerance are OK with yogurt and cheese. I don't know about ice cream, though.

Yeah, Liese, Grace's doc said that kids that can't do milk can sometimes do ice cream and yogurt. I don't know if Grace can do milk or not as we haven't really tried though the formula she had today, not the Elecare, but the Pediasure (which is $5/day instead of $20) has milk proteins but no lactose.
My one niece is like that too--no straight up milk but ice cream and cheese she tolerates well.
I've known people with (mild) lactose intolerance who can do ice cream, just because they're getting much less milk that way (since it's about half air + lots of volume is sugar and whatever flavorings + sometimes rather than daily food), but the amount that's milk has the same lactose as plain old milk.
Nice day. The expecting couple put up a wallpaper border in the nursery. I broke down a bunch of boxes for them from baby gifts, washed my bike, loaded bike and boxes into the car, trimmed all her rose and peony bushes, and brushed a bunch of hair off their shedding dog. Then raced back home unloaded and really raced to the garage, but was still 5 min late. Poop! $50 penalty.
Thanks to smonster, I got the crammed-full-of-stuff upstairs closet cleaned out! Bags in the car for Goodwill, bags to the garbage, and my goodness, empty shelf space and empty drawers! I'm tired enough to bail on dinner with my sister, but it was worth it.
Oh man, my former coworker died of Creutzfelt-Jacob disease. I kind of can't believe it took so long -- it must have been so hard on her family.
Ugh, no wonder I've been so melancholy all weekend -- so much sad news all around.
Yay! Decluttering!
I hope the awesome boxes are still there when we get home. We left them in a gated area at our building, but not in our apartment. We are currently chowing down on diner food near where we dropped the car.
Yay productivity, boo penalties.
Bismarcks. Although the one in that pic looks better than the one I had.
