Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Burrell --- mmmmmm... snickerdoodles. I admire your restraint.

I'll be less restrained next time. You and the family can come over and eat some too.

That would be lovely. Last sunday we almost stopped by, but I was jangly/crabby and Grace was mad about a blood draw and Noah needed the potty and Coffee Bean on Westwood had no decent iced tea.

So we went home. We're not very resilient these days.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Mmm, snickerdoodles.

So I typed up this big whole thing and deleted it, but basically, hanging out with twenty-somethings is ridic. What was that quote about spilling drama on my I just cleaned this life? Yeah, that. SO got stood up by our band leader for poker night. So much for blowing off steam and being social. Teaching, then performing, tomorrow, then he's leaving to camp over the holiday.

Don't talk to me about the irony of our Navajo kids getting Columbus Day off. But anyway, I hope he has a good time.

I hate those kinds of days, Kat.

So much for blowing off steam and being social.

I hate those days too, Liese.

My day was unnecessarily stressful, what with the waking at 4 am, yelling at my son in the morning, realizing I was buried at work, and students being needy. Oy. Coming home to bake was the most relaxing part of the day.

So we are having quite the soccer weekend. Games tomorrow and picture day on Sunday.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gah! This fucking Giants game is torture.

Matilda has Monday off. I don't even know if Emmett's school is off, though I suspect not since they just had two planning days in late Sept.

Soccer weekend! Aw.

We had swim lessons today (in the super warm therapy pool, which is nice because Noah froze last week) and a dinner out thanks to Groupon. Tomorrow I have proctoring SATs and grading. Then no other real obligations until Monday.

Next week is crazy though. Two nursing/therapy meetings, plus a dentist appt for me and a trip to the Getty Villa.
