Also, mac is getting picked up at school by grandma and having a sleep over at their house!!!! I can't put that in all caps until it actually happens, because, well, it's mac.
I played hookey from work all morning, but only spent $3 on books at a garage sale.

HOWTO bake porridge in a pumpkin
I am a stone oatmeal fiend. I get up extra early every morning just to make my special oatmeal for the family. Also, I love pumpkins. So when I saw this recipe for cooking oatmeal inside a sugar pumpkin, with optional kid-involvement, I began to dribble and drool copiously.
Preheat oven 375 degrees. Start by carefully cutting the top off your pumpkin and cleaning the insides out. (Save the seeds for later - recipe to come!) Combine all remaining ingredients (except the sugar for sprinkling and milk for splashing) in a large bowl. Stir well and divide batter evenly between the two pumpkins. Sprinkle lightly with brown sugar. Place both pumpkins on a cookie sheet and bake for 45 mins to an hour or until pumpkin is soft enough to scoop and oatmeal is done. After it was done, we added a splash of milk.

10/10/10 will be Turkey Day for me. Technically, it's Monday, but I'll be travelling back from my parents' place that day.

I will be having brunch with two of my best friends. Mimosas are $1 each, so maybe we'll all try to have 10 mimosas in their honor.
Our bedroom window is gone. I'm hoping no birds are enticed to fly in while Ray the Repairman puts in a new window pane.

Sleeping in! With any luck, Sunday will be my first morning in almost a month where I get to wake in my own bed without having to get my dad up early to make my office schedule and his meds work out.
There may be a movie crawl involved later on as well.
I will be on call for something I don't exactly understand, and also under the influence of dilaudid. Should be fun.
