Is JAR going to play a lawyer for forever? Which isn't a bad thing. It's just a thing thing.

I suppose it's better for him to be typecast as a suave lawyer than the leader of a gang of needy multi-ethnic street kids. But yeah, some variety might be nice.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I've just read and skimmed some... I'm so tired I can't really function right.

But yay Suzi on the raise! and yay Bon! and yay potential msbelle insurance.

It's been a really crazy day at work with some uber depressing kid news. But to balance that out, Grace is working on saying hey! And we're weaning her off one more med. That child cracks me up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

JAR's on The Defenders with Jerry McConnell.

Go Grace!

JAR has fallen off my radar. At first I was like, jars is? How is that possible?

As Grace gets more mobile, more communicative and more developed, she also gets naughtier, more demanding, and more stubborn (if that's even possible). She's exhausting me. The twins are winning.

Because books.

Hanna Andersson is like kids' clothes porn. It's very distressing. And expensive.

True of every child ever, really.

The twins are winning.

Out of context, and even in circa 3 years ago, this delights me. Reality me offers you my sympathies, though. Three is hard, from what I've seen. Three with Noah and Grace has to be especially interesting. Noah's precocious and very Mister Pickup from what I've heard, and Miss Gracie has always had an attitude, so surprise she's ramping it up to eleven.

Yeah, it's true of all children. What makes me happy and ashamed is how surprising all of this. I mean, she's so different than she used to be and so much better in some ways. It shows how low our bar was and sometimes is.

In other news, I have made it through a week of PD, classroom observations, back to school night, WASC crap. I have District level people visiting my classroom (look! here's the dog! look! there's the pony!) tomorrow and a boat load of grading. AND then Saturday I'm proctoring SATs. Good times!

sara, they are pretty wonderful, I'll say that much. But they are killing us. At preschool, Noah's teacher writes an accident report out whenever he has an accident, like bumping his head or getting hit with a door or falling off the wall. This week we've had 6 of them. And that's with 2 days with none.

I think I should start saving them.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I forgot to say yay for Suzi's job. That's wonderful, out-of-today's-ordinary news.

Matilda's new school is great news too.

I am having a wee dram. Of Drambuie. One should only drink Drambuie in wee drams. Sometimes more than a few wee drams, but always wee.
