Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand to God. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Go bon bon!

DH and I read the Michael Pollan book (the short one--anyone read it or his earlier food-related books?)

I just read the short one, Scrappy. And aside from having issues with portions (I like food, okay?!), I'm already doing almost everything he recommends. Of course, I have the luxury of working where I do and being able to afford a CSA.

So, yeah. I've totally been eating healthy for over a year! Ask me how!

Now if only the magical weight loss fairy would visit. That mofo owes me big time.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

While I scoff at the raw food diet, I am a big fan of raw foods, in both vegetable and animal forms. Salad, sushi, steak tartare. Delish. I've had beef that fits that "blue" description, but it was called something else. Seared maybe?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

*(Pending security check)

God, do I ever know that feeling. I'm still convinced I have a shady past that's going to be outed on my next security check.

-t, I love to spread the joy of egg nog, made with whole eggs, but cooked. Mmm, nummy. I'm not sure when I became egg cup chick for the family, but by the time I left for university I had already become accustomed to making eggnog for the family every Christmas morning.

Just the start of a drunken day.

Congratulations bon bon! You will be working near my neighb. We should have lunch sometime.

Scrappy, I read Omnivore's Dilemma and liked it. Loved the idea of following food on its journey from farm to kitchen.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I keep not applying to volunteer at the school because I'm scared of the security check. And there's nothing to turn up. Um, other than various seditious behaviors like listening to radical punk bands. But that accurately reflects my seditiousness!

Does Jacob still make cool clothes? I used to like shopping there. Now they've made a statement about reducing retouching. Skin tone evening and tattoo removal only.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Paul Newman used to do that. But, you know, he could.

Paul Newman could have stomped on puppies (HE'D NEVER!) and I'd still adore him.

the joy of egg nog, made with whole eggs, but cooked

It took me a sec to figure out that you probably cook the whole concoction and not just the eggs. I was having a hard time figuring out how to incorporate cooked eggs into a drink. And I haven't even been. Drinking. But I think I'm going to go get a glass of wine now.

hip deep in pie

I know a few people who love Jacob, ita.

My sister called me to ask if I would bring the 3rd book in the Millenium Trilogy home with me, then launches into a long meandering explanation of what she's leaving me in her will and how I can minimize the taxes I will pay on it. I finally had to interrupt her and ask why she was even telling me this now. She is very obsessed with money.

I saw eggnog in the grocery store yesterday. Too soon.
