Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yeah, "umfriend" has been around for a while, quite independent of us - Random House Word Of the Day from 1998 frex.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm glad to hear it - it's a great term.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I often feed her pecan pieces. Today she showed up on the balcony rail with ISTG a steak bone, and she is just sitting there, staring at me, and gnawing on it.

Awwwwww she was trying to bring you a treat...

But she eated it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It was a leg bone. She's just letting you know what will happen to you if you stop bringing her pecans, like that guy did.

ION, the inside of Trudy's head is demonstrably nicer than the inside of my head.

hip deep in pie

That is a pretty string squirrel if it was a human leg bone.

Had a fun afternoon sailing in the harbour. I was at the tiller most of the afternoon, which is terrifying since I haven't been a sailboat since I was a kid. I don't know how we'll all explain our sunburns at the office tomorrow.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I had a cat when I was much younger and thus shorter who hauled a coyote leg up to the roof of our house (there were rocks to get there). Now, I am fairly certain he didn't bring down a coyote, but still scavenging a coyote leg seemed pretty hardcore for a domestic cat.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Is that true in other jurisdictions?

Pizza boxes go in composting here, along with milk cartons and the like.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It should not be in the low 60s and overcast in early October. Not helping my mood any, either.
