All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

I have been going to bed earlier than normal, sleeping/snoozing to regular time, but I am not getting rested. I am having weirdo dreams and I think multiple dreams a night. I want a day to nap.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Despite the lack of sleep, I am up, dressed, and in the office. Can I go home now?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Make you a deal, msbelle: I am starting to get REALLY BORED cleaning my own house and stuff, while sending out resumes.

Fly me to TX for a few days and I'll be your au pair and aide, you can nap, and because of Murphy's Law, people will call be wanting interviews ASAP.

Deal?!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Can I go home now?

Yes.

I started to fall asleep on the couch at 9:30 last night and got myself up and to bed. Fell asleep about 45 minutes later (which is good for me). Woke up at 3:30, but fell back asleep within 15 minutes.

Had a sad moment when I realized today was Thursday after thinking it was Friday.

So, I am getting Girl Scouts off the ground at school and, oy. One of the potential leaders wants to back out because of the registration fee ($12). I told her we had troop funds for that and her time and effort was worth so much more. I may have to pay her registration myself, but god damn it. She is youngish, has 3 kids and I think doesn't work and lives with her mother. The just-released American Community Survey reports that 39% of the children in my city live below the poverty level. I hate that I know people for whom $12 a year to be a Girl Scout is a hardship.

You just don't want me to get a job -- you are no longer THE NICEST!!

I think today I am going to try to organize the massive piles of paperwork stuff on the shelves by the front door. It's become kind of a catch-all area, and I am a little afraid of it!

Also going to make some calls for my friend's wedding, so I will get some stuff to do.

I could also do basement stuff, but I really want Dan to help with that, since it's messes from before I lived here, and I am a wee bit resentful of cleaning them up by myself.

The insomnia fairy was at my house too, and when I got out of bed around 1, I discovered my roof was leaking. That was certainly conducive to sleep.

I wonder if there are any roofers who barter.
