Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Unexpected, and I felt like a weenie.

Weenie solidarity!

They've gotten paid at least a dollar a minute to do their work.

In LA that doesn't have anything to do with being para-medical. That just means you're not a bargain basement strip mall, at least in my neighbourhood.

And now I'm watching a sitcom. This is supposed to make me feel better after unanticipated emotional reaction. Garrett Dillahunt is...interesting.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

If I get a massage from a stylist, that totes counts as making me look great, and I add on!

But I can afford basic service, so I go to a basic salon. Ergo, 15-20% tips. I think that is reasonable.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

H50 was on tonight?

Erin, I've followed this woman from Hair Cuttery for $10 to a middling salon to the fancypants salon she's at now simply because I tell her"whatever" and what she does makes my hair look good even when I don't bother with styling it [link] and it grows out well. I think I'd budget for her even if she got into the $100 range (though I'd cringe.) I don't to lose her.

Yeah, if I found a stylist I liked that much, I'd follow her/him pretty much anywhere.

Welcome to the world of sleep-sensitive time-shiftery.

Okay, Undercovers, no one cares but me, but that music? Wrong country. Hmmph.

Sara, that's totally reasonable, and I'd try to do the same, if I found someone I really loved.

I stick with pretty basic hairstyles, and color my own hair. In grad school, I went to a nice Aveda salon here, and paid more (with my student loan money -- groan) and paid for the ambiance, Aveda products and head massages.

If I ever got a little bit more money in pocket, I'd try higher end salons for cut and color, and I'd pay 20% tips there, but now, I can't.

I'd love to have a stylist I trusted that much! And although I am happy coloring my own hair a basic Feria red, I would love to have someone else get the damned back for me, and really mix up a perfect, vivid red I'd love. Red fades so fast, I just can't justify the upkeep now. And if I found it, I would want to keep it forever!

On Undercovers (which I am dubbing UC, cause I am lazy), his perfectly matte head and face constantly distracts me. So smooth, even on HD!

As do his pretty, pretty lips.

I've never colored my hair without Stephen's help. I can't imagine the mess I'd make, or how much I would miss.

I need to find a new stylist now that we've moved. I need a haircut so bad I actually trimmed around my ears myself a few days ago, and had S. cut the back for length.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Crap. I need to set a series recording for H50.

Shampoo people at the salon give awesome head massages. I totally tip for that.

If I were obscenely wealthy, one thing I would spring for would be someone to wash my hair in one of those reclining chairs on a daily basis. I love they way they massage your scalp.

My new stylist is on the roller derby team and she only charges me $25, which I think is a pretty good price.
