Well, they are well-ventilated.

Dampish. I vote No.
tiggy, they're Dr. Scholl's--I saw them for sale at Walgreens. Also for sale at Walmart.
I am completely fascinated at the prevalence of disposableish or foldable shoes. No. Really. I kinda love them, but I bet the Sex and the City people would disapprove.
I am contemplating going to by some of msbelle's magic Recaito, but I think want Sofrito more.
Long night -- crying upset night terrors and overly hot to boot.
I HATE THIS WEATHER AND I BLAME ITA FOR IT BEING HERE. All of her "We've had no summer" stuff is just wrong.
What's funny Kat is that my friends from PR, called garlic, cilantro based stuff Sofrito, but in Goya land, that is Recaito. If I am remembering right the Goya Sofrito has tomato in it.
I kind of love Cashmere.
ION, gronk. woke up with a headache/neckache. it appears to be subsiding thanks to some Excedrin, thank goodness.
Those disposable shoes would have been useful for bar and bat mitzvah parties. A bunch of 12- and 13-year-old girls wearing heels, we'd usually all take our shoes off by the second song. The well-prepared parents always had a big bag of white athletic socks for us to put on so that we wouldn't get splinters.
At my cousin's wedding over the weekend, there wasn't even a ton of dancing, but after dinner, I noticed my other cousin was barefoot and the friend she was talking to was back in her flip-flops. Heh.
Hey, David Simon won a MacArthur "genius" grant! [link] There are a couple of funny bits at the end of the article:
MacArthur winner Amir Abo-Shaeer, a public high school physics teacher in California, said he was expecting a call from a college student named Liz Brooks who was interested in his work when the foundation called to tell him about the grant.
There was no Liz Brooks. She was a creation of the foundation to get the busy teacher on the phone. "I am prepared to lie like a rug," admitted Gallucci, who notified Abo-Shaeer of the grant.
and:
Simon, the HBO producer, said his wife would like to thank the foundation for "five years of fresh material." The morning after she heard the news, Simon's wife, best-selling novelist Laura Lippman, told him, "Hey Genius, you forgot to take the trash out last night."
The MacArthur Foundation also gave my DH's non-profit $500,000 last week w/ no strings attached to the money. Not a genius grant, but still awesome.
