Natter 66: Get Your Kicks.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I had a nast instameal from target for lunch (omg, salt! but was that hungry) and for dinner? Froz nanner-soymilk and sugarfree chocolate milkshake. And this is with a fridge full of spinach empanadas, mixed fresh spinach and mesclun, white nectarines, teeny tomatoes and a loaf of savory-sweet chile bread. What can I say, I was so hungry I didn't want to waste the good stuff (not counting the milkshake.)
Floors are vacuumed and mopped, toilet no longer resembles a frat house nightmare (note: this is not due to me or my bodily functions. My pipes to the upstairs are nearly 80 years old and iron, hence rust, which results in a gross looking orange film in the bowl after about a week. I clean the tank every 3 months or so, but the pipes, they still rust.)
I am not sure if I have mentioned it here, but the Archer Farms Honey Cinnamon Almonds at Target are CRACKtastic.
I waited until the temp went down to 90 to go for a walk and now I am roasted. Milkshake dinner sounds like a good idea.
I was going to suggest cream biscuits to go under the strawberries but I would have to go find my recipe and I think it's close to what Ginger posted.
Oh, swamp cooler, why did I ever leave your sweet embrace?
I am icing my thumb. I'm a little concerned about this, I gave someone the thumbs up gesture today and there was this electric
twangggg
through my thumb. It had started with a mild pain at the base of my palm/thumb and escalated even though I wasn't stressing it, it isn't my dominant hand, I haven't been doing stripping that really stresses it. I looked up some anatomy, it is def tendon. Uhg. Was talking to my neighbor and she was all dire. She had something like this happen last year and she still has issues.
Of course, she already had carpal tunnel to begin with.
It isn't really painful, just... electric. Kinda fun if it wasn't, you know, WRONG.
OTOH, this is joint-weirdness week, so it might all go away in a few days, along with the wonky knees and elbows that feel like they are popping out of socket.
One problem with the Miss Piggy argument: she's not on Sesame Street. Different set of Muppets entirely (apart from Kermit
the
Frog)
Almighty Hivemind,
My Bronzer friend Clarrie is coming (from UK) to visit, tomorrow. Scott & I are taking her and her fiance out for dinner, but I want to have some beer and red wine in the house for before and after. What should I get. Wine -- I'm thinking about a $25 bottle. Beer? Er...the sky's the limit, I guess.
eta... Yes Bronzer/Buffistas, it's that Clarrie.
I agree with Debet's issue with the Miss Piggy arguement, but that outfit doesn't seem any more revealing than the feamle puppet in "Furry Happy Monsters" [link]
Timelies!
Been busy all day. In reverse:
Borrowed car overheated on the 14 near the 5. Luckily, I still pay for my AAA membership although I do not own a car. It turns out the car had not been properly maintained and had ZERO water/coolant in the radiator.
Went to a bday party out towards Palmdale. Baking hot but nice breezes. Forced myself to be more outgoing. Was mostly successful. Still wonder whether something I said was misinterpreted and thus makes me seem like an ass (or worse, hurt someone's feelings). I'm trying not to obsess about that like I usually do.
Met an extraordinarily interesting woman who is a planetary geologist and works for a contractor for JPL. Also met some more The Guild actors, crew, extras. The bday boy is well-loved and it's well-deserved.
Met with The Artist's Way group I got together. They want to put the group (only 3 of us) on hold for 3 weeks because I'll be gone and one other hasn't gotten the book yet though we're 3 weeks in. I got a little balky because I just can't guarantee I'll have all my readings and exercises done. It's enough for me to meet and talk and try my best but he's a bit anal about everything. So I'm kicking back (internally). My depression has shot upwards since moving in with my parents and being mostly housebound in LA. And of course that affects my productivity.
I worry, sara. Have some ibuprofen and use icepacks. Take care of your hands! *fret*
