I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Get the duck curry! How can that be boring?

I decided not to watch Lone Star because the write ups kept referring to Dallas and downplaying the con man angle. And yet, I am still catching up on stuff recorded on Wednesday. Too much TV.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't understand why the Dallas comparison. I mean, sure, Texas, oil, family, but still.

Is it not a soapy drama? That was the implication. I may rethink my watching though that would mean more tv, so I probably shouldn't, regardless.

I don't know -- I think the conman angle looms pretty large. I feel like it's played more straight than a soap? Or something? Keep in mind, I watched it in the middle of an orgy of tv yesterday, so who knows what it's really like. It was less sudsy than Undercovers?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Good news: After 45 minutes of firm negotiation by my husband, Direct TV is going to upgrade our DVR to HD for free instead for the $200 they originally quoted. (Sample line: "If you truly value my loyalty, then why won't you give me the same deal you give brand new customers?")

Bad news: They are doing it on Sunday and we have 48 hours to watch all the stuff piled up on our present DVR, which is, well, more than 48 hours.

NICE.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I went with the duck curry. Just not pineapple. Fancy switchup, me. Also, potstickers instead of bao.

Hmm. I'm not sure I like The Mentalist anymore.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Nothing wrong with having a Friday night ritual. If you want the same thing every Friday, plenty of nights the other days of the week to try something new. Or, you know, not.

What I don't like is when they try to accelerate the process. Went into a new Pho place. "Oh let me seat you at your usual table."

Dude, I have eaten here ONCE before. The table you happen to seat me at the first time I come in is NOT my "usual table" the second time I come in. Starting a new place in this economy is hard, especially a new Pho place in town already filled with Pho places. I understand you want to build customer loyalty. But that is trying way too hard.

Undercovers is on the DVR to be watched soon. I will probably waffle some more on Lone Star, but if it's cancelled that will simplify matters. The real problem is this two seasons of Criminal Minds I have to watch before I can jump into the new season. That was kinda dumb of me to get all involved in that, but I'm stuck now.

But at least I don't have a deadline. Good luck with that, Scrappy, and congrats on the HD. It's so pretty.

Maybe you are memorable, Typo? I'd been to the Thai Restaurant twice, once with my parents, and then takeout on NYE when I had a cold, and when asked how spicy, replied with "Can't taste anything, I habe a code" "Extra spicy then! Cook will love this!" And the next time I visited for takeout, over 6 months later, the owner remembered me. And this is a well established, popular place. OTOH, he was greeting customers left and right by name, so maybe he's got one of those memories. Food is great, so he certainly doesn't need to go overboard.
