I see the Texas School Board is at it again. They appear vehemently opposed to the text books they do longer use.

I've also seen the Republican pledge for the mid-terms. Pretty predictable stuff, but there are still items that made me upset.

As much as I revile the Republican party, I'm also honked off at the Democrats, in particular Pelosi, for some truly disingenuous bullshit she was spouting on NPR the other night about the healthcare bill changes that take effect today.
The last TDS I saw (not yesterday's, but earlier this week) I think really nailed the left's (of which I'm a proud member) dissatisfaction with Obama. It was about the woman at the town hall meeting; he showed the 'This is what we were promised' clips from the campaign and early days of the administration, and the 'This is what we got' clips from a little later in the administration.
ita, I hope you can get some sleep and feel better.
So far today: I skipped a shower this morning because there were two camel crickets in my bathtub and I couldn't deal, forgot about my 8:30 on-campus meeting with my boss and one other person, and forgot to tell my temps about our staff meeting at 10:30 (luckily our office manager didn't).
I am rockin' this day so far!
Oh yeah, Gud. The black female financial analyst veteran? OBAMA'S KRYPTONITE.
Are those those hideous prehistoric looking ones? Ew. I used to get those in DC.
Yep. And they JUMP. Ugh.
disingenuous bullshit
That pretty much covers what gets me upset about the Republican pledge. It's just a collection of stuff they think will be popular sounding even if it's totally impractical or contradicts their stated goals. Politically, it makes total sense, but I particularly dislike disingenuous bullshit.

And the worst and most frustrating thing about that to me? All we're going to hear about is that Obama and the Democrats tried to do too much, and not that they weren't doing enough.
Everytime I listen to the news, I hear bitching about health care reform, financial reforms (hell, it's conventional wisdom that Warren can't be confirmed), any move toward a WPA style jobs bill. So everyone tells them to compromise and be bipartisan and we don't get any of those things and then the Repubicans say we tried to do too much or are too big government liberals.
And it's a bunch of shitty lies told by shitty people.
