Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I was in college, we would lie about what time the flight was, because the shuttles always want to pick you up so early. But I wouldn't risk in in LA -- the next pickup could be a million miles away.

So my plan to go to bed early and sleep off my cold didn't work. Couldn't breathe, don't like to sleep on back, no cold meds in the house, etc. So I called out from work, which was really dumb, since I have a ton of meetings I was supposed to go to but not really participate in, so it would have been a relatively easy day. But I feel like crap, so.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Last night was a relative success. I do know I fell asleep. Because I woke up. On the hour, pretty much. But that's so much better than the two nights before, where there was no sensation of waking up at all.

I still do want to cry, though. Which I think is one of the questions on the sleep questionnaire.

Ugh. I was definitely asleep from like 2 to 6, which is not nearly enough, but better than THAT.

Punishingly Intricate

I think all the insomnia talked here infected my brain. I woke up at 4 and never was able to get back to sleep, despite skipping yoga. ugh

And I totally cried. So, I can only imagine how you feel, ita and other folks with the bad chronic insomnia. what a horrible thing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is just...bizzare:

Stephen Colbert to testify before Congress in character.

Reading the whole article, it kind of makes sense, but I also wonder where the fine line is between performance and perjury.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The idea of working today terrifies me. I'm trying to work out what piece of clothing or what piece of jewelry I can put on to make it better, but I just can't fix it like that. There are no totems for this.

I'm wrecked.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Damn, ita. I want to just wrap your entire life in painkiller-infused bubble wrap.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Damn, ita. Hope you make it through the day.

ION, happy first full day of Fall (for you Northern Hemisphere types)....
