Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

msbelle, your massive accomplishments over the last few month are truly boggling to us mere mortals. And methinks your standards for yourself are pretty damn high. You do need help, I'll grant you. But I have no doubt you'll organize and implement that solution and incorporate it seamlessly as you have every other backup and aid to this awesome and forward-looking life you've made. Courage, dearheart. Trust in yourself, for you're the one of the strongest women I know.

What she said. Every single word of it. You are one of my heroes, and I've learned so much about parenting and patience from you.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Given that I drive five hours two days a week every week and the SO is afraid to fly, yeah we`d rather drive or train. I don`t mind driving at all. And I used to love flying too, but it is more and more of a hassle. Next month I`m flying to Ohio, but I`m going out of my tiny little town. So that`ll be interesting because I`ll need to gate check the bag that will be my carryon the rest of the way, since the first plane will be so small. But that first leg will be a super short flight.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

msbelle is AWESOME. I know you might not feel that way right now, but I am straight up in awe of you, lady. I judge you AWESOME.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

(And, as I think of it, wasn't Kevin Smith tossed off a flight even though he fit between the armrests? So it concerns me.)

Yes, which is the first time that I thought it could actually happen. I don't think this will happen with me, but it's something else for me to obsess about.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Okay, why did my fire alarm just start going off? There's no smoke. There's no smell of smoke. I'm not even cooking. Scared me half to death. It wouldn't stop going off even when I hit the Hush button. I unplugged it from the ceiling. But now I'm scared that there's some secret fire I'm unaware of! Does this just mean I need to replace the alarm, or should I be worried? Gah!

The cats are calm, it should be noted, so they're not detecting any fire with their super feline senses.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Waiting on the cable guy, who technically has another hour in his window to arrive, and wanting desperately to call and make sure he is going to actually show up. Control freak = me.

Oh Zenkitty, that is kinda scary. I wouldn't worry, it was probably a battery or a short, just be extra aware of your surroundings for the next little while.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Theresa, if you want the cable guy to show up soon, run a bath and take all your clothes off.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Thanks, Ginger. This is all making me grateful that English is the first language I learned so that I don't have to learn it as an outsider. Phew.
