"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Duct tape!

You know you can make a wallet out of duct tape.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Because books.

Sara used the last of our Hello Kitty bandaids and I was pissed when I needed one yesterday.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, and I feel like I have spent my life being too geeky for regular folk, and too non-geeky for actual geeks. And not into partying enough for theatre folk.

You're a fucking disappointment! Except to me, of course. I think you're very cool.

I've recently realized that my interest in WWII being so narrowly focused is a kind of geekery.

Oooh! What is your narrow interest in WWII? I have a narrow interest in WWI.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

You can make a UNIVERSE from duct tape!

I think my geekery is more nerdery. I don't know.

Actually, I think I'm just weird, and smart. Eclectery?

You'd probably need about 10 boxes.

You've got the scholarship working for you. Not everybody has a post-grad degree in medieval lit.

Yep, nerd.

Ah, me. I accept it; nay, EMBRACE it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, you have no geek cred...

Well, now that you've made me realise they must have Batman bandaids...but before that, I was just a dork.

Okay, maybe still dorky.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oooh! What is your narrow interest in WWII?

Pretty much the Guadalcanal campaign, and mostly the naval aspects of it. So you know, mid August 1942 to, say, mid January 1943.

I think I mostly find that so interesting was that the US and Japanese forces were so closely balanced (after the battles of Midway and The Coral Sea). After Guadalcanal, the US and Japanese navies were so exhausted they didn't fight another major battle for almost two years, and by then the US Navy had a huge advantage and victory was a forgone conclusion.

What's your WWI Interest? I read a book recently about the naval battles of WWI and found it very interesting.
