Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Mod <> formal!

Right?

Dear god in heaven. I have to go lie down with a cool cloth on my head now.

I feel better, though! It's nice having the validation that this really is fucking insane.

BEYOND insane.

Study: College Grads Unprepared For Workplace

It's the time of year when college graduates plunge into the job market for the first time. Human resources managers say many recent grads are unprepared for the demands of the workplace.

...

"What we found, was that there are a set of qualities, characteristics that these people would like to see in new college graduates," says David Polk, a York College professor. "Unfortunately, they tend to be lacking."

Those qualities include the ability to communicate and listen respectfully, motivation to finish a task and attention to appearance.

But Polk says researchers did find one area where recent graduates stand out:

"There's a sense of entitlement that we've picked up on. Where people think they're entitled to become, let's say president of the company, within the next two years. They're entitled to five weeks of vacation."

It's what happens when the King of the Mods goes into the Jungle Room.

Mod formal!

It is a very strict dress code, but also fluid and subject to fashion and personal taste. I'm not sure I'd characterize it as formal (like, "black tie"), but it's definitely about Italian tailoring.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

To rebut this charge of entitled youth, I submit my son's thriving duct tape wallet business. Last night he had to figure out how to finesse the Deluxe Model which has a divider in the main bill folding section.

Also he stole another roll of tape from his Spanish teacher, so he's keeping costs down.

I don't know why, but this got me earwormed with "I Wanna Be Just Like You" from Jungle Book.

I have to show that to chatty!co-worker. He's all about the Mod look. And is also a bit of a dandy. Is there intersection between the two? It seems like there must be.

Oh yes, Mods are total dandies. Definitely in that long British tradition.

You could famously become a complete social outcast among Mods for having the side vents on your jacket cut an inch too short.
