A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hmmm. I think two when I hear pigtails. I can't "hear" it, mentally, without the "s."

When I had long hair, and wore, er, double ponies? (that sounds even dirtier) I was (a) well aware that a schoolgirl connotation might be construed (b) sometimes going a little for the naughty schoolgirl thing and (c) sometimes I kinda had dirty hair and it kept hair out of my face.

And hi, skewed logic, even though you're 18 and I'll cut you a little slack. Should teenage girls not be wearing their hair in "girlish" styles, because it makes some people think they're -- GASP-- schoolgirls? Um.

Honey, welcome to the grown-up world. ANYTHING can be seen as sexy.

And sometimes pigtails are just pigtails.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Note to self: do not google pigtails with SafeSearch off. Even with SafeSearch on "moderate," almost half the results are porn.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh, and in my househld, growing up, two pony tails high on the head on the sides were called "Buffies" or "Buffy-tails", from Buffy in Family Affair(??) This is hw I wore my hair most often in 1st grade.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm old as dirt and wear pigtails.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

The girl who's had short hair her whole life has no opinion, unsurprisingly.

I still think (unsurprisingly) that I am right, because pigs' tails are short and ponies' tails are long. See, very logical!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I tend to use Steph's definition too.

I also will 'fess up to wearing my hair in pigtails on occasion. Oh. Well.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

One=pony
Two or more=pig
braided hair=braid

I wore pigtails when I felt like it up until my late 30s. Looked good, too.

That's one thing I miss about longer hair, pigtails. I remember seeing the Buffy ep when she wore them doubled up, with the ends sticking out, and I was all "OMG GENIUS SUMMER HAIR" and it immediately became my go-to exercise hair.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

My hair is too short now for pigtails, but I wore them and still would when inspired. When I ran and wore a hat, I loved pigtails, low, because I could still wear a hat (like Jilli said, but a baseball cap).

Grace wears her hair in pigtails almost every day, but I guess that doesn't count.
