Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, I definitely show VPL in my yoga pants. But yoga pants are an exception, right? And I`m only wearing them as inside pants anyway, so I guess only the SO & roommate are around to notice.

And I do walk around naked sometimes. Pre-roommate, anyway. And our house looks all open and lit up like the Dwell unhappy hipster houses. But since there`s literally two streets between us and the next nearest house, I am not too worried about it. We`ve thought about putting a hot tub on the deck and I think I`d be comfortable naked on the deck. We`re really rural.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. Someday I`ll finish the painting.

Always Anti-fascist!

Too bad I can't, sarameg. I need to get the fuck out of here, and what better place could I go?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

But you are still moving, Amy?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'd love to move us, sara, but not in this (I just mistyped as shit) economy.

Because books.

But you are still moving, Amy?

Of course we are, you goof! Just not to Baltimore. Also, as good as sara's neighborhood sounds, I wouldn't want to move the kids somewhere we could only stay for a few months.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I thought of another Harry Potter character better portrayed on film: Jim Broadbent as Slughorn. Much more soulful. Actually a really interesting portrait of a weak man who is very conscious and regretful of the damage he's caused.

As I saw the movies before reading/hearing the books I was surprised to find that beautiful little grace note about Lilly's charm (the flower that turned into a fish, which died when she died) was from Steve Kloves the screenwriter.

I picked Emmett up from school today and he announced, "I made $33 dollars today!"

I feared some chicanery, but he'd been industrious and a good sales person. He'd learned how to make a wallet out of duct tape online and made one. Then he took orders at school. He made two more after school (they come in three different models) and is literally whistling while he works in his bedroom making duct tape wallets for his classmates.

I suspect he'll be okay in the real world. (Particularly since he lifted the roll of tape from his Spanish teacher. I'd feel bad about this except his Spanish teacher is kind of a dick. So - some chicanery.)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Particularly since he lifted the roll of tape from his Spanish teacher.

Just re-frame this as "zero start-up costs".

That is kind of how I thought of it. "Hmmm, profit margins up on day one..."

I am often partly/mostly naked at home. But I have blinds, and try to keep them mostly closed.

I do not wish to rent sara's neighbor's house, but I want someone to rent the room in MY house! Fingers crossed the friend who came to see the place today will agree.
