Oh man, I had a dream a couple of weeks ago where a former friend, with whom I've had a sort of complicated falling out in real life (and other people have as well, she's kind of a toxic person), had come back to town and I had to hang out with her with mutual friends who still like her. AND NOW IT'S COMING TRUE! She's trying to come to town for a mutual friend's wedding in July. It's so stupid, I can totally rally enough to be around her even though it will be awkward, but it's stressing me out.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I have fond memories of Fleet Week during college. Milwaukee wasn't a port of harbor, but it was close enough to Great Lakes Naval Station that we'd get the sailors in their dress whites coming up to party at The Safe House and other touristy drinking establishments. They were all so pretty.

I have to say, I have a cousin in the Navy and he's a wonderful guy, but even in his dress whites he's not a stunner. And he's my mental image of "guys in the Navy" so the whole thing is tainted for me.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It turns out to be cookout day here, so I'm eating some adequate brisket that could use more sauce.
