Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

I think mine cost $50 now. I just let her do whatever she wants.

My conversation with the parents last night convinced my dad to book a flight out to see his sister, this week So that's good. I may see him (he's got a layover at BWI.) I'm still going to see about flying up for a day.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It is sweaty nasty hot here. I went to the store to get litter (which I forgot, natch) and my earlier shower is pretty much negated.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Then there are the people like the lady in my office with the enormous, roller-set helmet hair where you can't even imagine where they find someone who can (or would) even cut it like that anymore.

Beauty schools. Because if other states are like Washington, you need do have done X number of hours of "wet sets" before you can graduate. Long ago, when I was in cosmetology school, my classmates would practice roller sets on me. We'd show the result to the professors, get the grade, and then go backcomb my hair even further into proper gothy big hair.

Punishingly Intricate

I think it's probably easier to get a less expensive good haircut in a relatively big city because the talent pool is deeper.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I didn't die! Three hours on skates. I remembered my crossovers, I can still skate backwards and can still skate fast (I came in third behind two of the Derby Girls in a two lap race).

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay Cashmere!

Maybe your roller derby name should be Cashmere? Or Cash Mere?

I have been thinking of going to see a guy I went to HS with who gives high end cuts (he was an art major in HS), but I am pretty sure that would run me over $200 if I did cut and color. The other option is to go to the cheap gay boy salon, but they sometimes give me mom hair because they don't know me!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cool Cashmere.

Colin is even taunting on Twitter.

Somehow, it feels different now that I'm here. And it is a cool pool.

Okay, back to work, and then poolside.

Oh, and David- youre saying by sticking to the bob to avoid mom hair, I basically have mom hair. I think this is true in the city, but around here, people still seem to have big hair. (at least going by facebook and coworkers)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sophia, I've found in the past if I'm in a total hair rut it's not a bad investment to go for a higher-end cut just to get the creative juices going, and then you can go back to something more in your normal range but with a better idea of how to direct the stylist. Might be worth considering. Maybe not cut and color at once to make it more managable?
