Good luck finding one! And make sure you get a programmable one, that way you can leave it a few degrees higher during the workday and then have it at just the right temp by the time you get home.

Yesterday, after picking up my cousin from his interview in Oak Park, I drove him around OP, Forest Park, and River Forest to show him the neighborhoods and the range of apartments in the area. He likes older places, but I warned him that older apartments usually mean no elevators and no AC. He uses a cane, so the elevator can be important if he gets a walk-up. I also warned him about finding a place with off-street parking, which was something the people he interviewed with also mentioned.

They told him they want to talk to potential hires in person twice, so I'm hoping he gets a callback next week. He has to fly out from Columbus, so it's a PITA for him to get out here again, but he's been out of work for a while and this would be a great job for him. He heard the company head speak at an acoustics symposium and sent the guy his resume several months ago, but didn't get the call for an interview until now.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

And make sure you get a programmable one, that way you can leave it a few degrees higher during the workday and then have it at just the right temp by the time you get home.

That's a good idea. Or else I could just turn it off when I'm not around, which is what I used to do....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

While, on the one hand, I maintain my links are of a perfectly cromulent nature, I just made someone on another board think thoughts he finds ooky, and it made me laugh until I cried.

Which I needed, because my 12:30 is going to kill me.

Why am I here? I have doc prep to do! Go away, ita!

The status is NOT quo.

I finally went to Goodwill and dropped off the duvet and cover that have been taking up most of my trunk for two years. I am ridiculously pleased with myself.

Skippy Skimmer here. What is the good news about Allyson's Sam I missed?

Also yesterday was hellish. Worst migraine I've had, well every. Current theory: it was a mild case of food poisoning which in turn triggered a migraine.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I think I'm about to get thumped for something at work.

Boss asked me to order something, pretty urgetnly. I did and since I have the company credit card number on another authorization for form for a different project, I tried to use it. It was denied, so I filled out the request sheet, got the other card, made the purchase, all was well. I let the Dude know that Boss' card was denied, in case there was something hinky going on.

He just came up and asked how I knew that. I said I tried it and it got denied. He asked how I had the number. I have it on another auth form. He nodded and walked away.

He came back through my office and I explained and said, "It occurs to me now, that that was not the procedure and I won't do that that way again. Sorry about that."

Now, I admit - not good for accounting controls. I did the Wrong thing.

Under normal circumstances with normal people, this would be the end of it. With my accounting department, Dude in particular who likes to put his nose where it doesn't belong and is, in general, a douchebag, it is going to be A Thing. Sigh.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Which of you wrong-headed people linked to the scary sextoy blog? I just read the whole thing, and I think I need brain bleach.

Daisy, I don't think I can swing that fair tomorrow, but that site is cool. I'll be sure to take before and after pictures of my projects.
