I have both been there and gotten the phone call. And I will repeat what I always say: if the human body doesn't ordinarily just have massive amounts of snot waiting to be blown out, then when you have a cold, WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?!? And my conclusion is that it's not snot, but braiiiiiiiiiiiins that you're actually blowing out.

(I know, the body makes snot in response to the cold/allergies/etc., but I like my explanation better.)

I read somewhere once that the reason the ancient Egyptians just pulled out and discarded the brain instead of preserving like other vital organs was that they believed that the inside of the head was pretty much just a mucus factory.

Certainly there have been times when I can understand the logic there.

This weekend we're heading down to San Diego to take care of ND's mom for a week while his sister and her husband take a vacation. Kaylee is coming with us. His mom has a pool. This is where I plan to spend most of my time.
