Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Coding and Sleeping

Writing tip, don't leave your manuscript laying around when you have a daughter who will read anything with words on it.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That Star Wars on the subway car is great! Franny wants to know why R2D2 isn't there.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday, Zen! I wish you ass-hooks by the score!

Happy birthday, Ouise! (No ass hooks for you.)

OMG, I can't believe msbelle and Mac are in-flight and on the way to life changing. Be cool kitty.

Fables of the Reconstruction is 25 years old! It just makes me feel....ancient.

Join me in the land of older-than-mummy-dirt. I just managed to Tivo REM on Sesame Street yesterday, doing "Furry, Happy Monsters" ("Shiny, Happy People" with muppets).

I also snagged "Me Left Me Cookie at the Disco" (Cookie Monster), and put them both on my Musical Interludes tape, along with "The Ape of Death" and "Mod Wolves" from the Mighty Boosh. They were immediately preceded by "Springtime for Hitler." I just snag things on the Tivo and throw the most entertaining videos and music scenes onto one greatest hits tape. Periodically I watch the whole thing - very entertaining. Siouxsie vids, the final song by Prince in Purple Rain, animated songs from Yo Gabba Gabba. And now, the Boosh and Cookie Monster.

Today is also the 25th anniversary of Live Aid. Which makes it a few months older than one of my coworkers.

That was the weekend I flew down to Miami to get my mom's car and drove it back up to Boston. During the middle of Live-Aid I stopped in Maryland to see my friends Susan and Laura Hillenbrand. I think that was the first time I met Laura, though I'd been corresponding with her.

Defense~ma for Hil!

Can I get a "Gods give me strength" for my 10:00. I HATE HATE HATE this meeting. It's the one where I have to pretend I understand and give a shit about other departments' systems.
