Also, you can get a slotted spoon for about $2 at Target. Treat yourself.
Or at a thrift store, 50 cents.

Oh, and happy birthdays to Ouise and and Zenkitty!
Continued move~ma with added "Shut up, cat!" to msbelle.
I hope the flight went well, msbelle!
Smonster, are you still looking for swinsuits? Lands End is having a sale right now.
I just bought a few suits for Jamaica, all one size smaller than I am right now, since I am going to try to get back on the diet between now and then.
Since I was born at 10am on the East Coast, in fifteen minutes I will be 47. Cool. Today I will dye my hair, go to lunch with my niece and her boyfriend, and then go buy a refrigerator. Yay!
Will there be cake at lunch? There should be cake.
Happy Birthday, Ouise!
Happy Birthday, Zenkitty!
Good luck moving, msbelle! I doubt you're in much of a position to do it for much of the flight, but our cats don't meow nearly as much when traveling if they can look out a window, or if we can reach into the carrier to pet them. (Of course, that latter can have consequences. No matter how small we open the zipper for the hand to reach in, Max manages to get out.)
And my last post leads into the latest on Max, which deserves a post of its own even if it is serial. On Thursday, we decided with the oncology vet that he's undergoing palliative radiation, because the recent lung problems means it's best not to put him under anesthesia as many times as a full course would require. He had to go in again on Friday for another scan and the first treatment -- the tumor hadn't grown, but fluid with cancer cells got into a sinus, which means the radiation target area now includes his left eye, and he's at high risk for a cataract in that eye in 6-12 months. He handled the radiation well (and a flush of his nose to reduce fluid washed out a piece of the tumor), and his appetite is better, but last night he started limping. So back to the vet, who diagnosed cellulitis (nothing broken) most likely related to the catheter used for the radiation.
Add in Marie's check-up on Monday, and we've been in a vet's office 4 of the last 6 days.
Just got off the phone with my cousin, who has an interview in Oak Park tomorrow--yay, him! He's been living at home and job hunting for a long while after going through some really bad health problems. He'll be at Millenium Park tonight for a concert (yuck, it's going to be sooo hot!) because the company he's interviewing with designed the sound system there. Yes, he's another sound designer, like ND!
I'm going to check with my boss and see if I can take a half day tomorrow to meet him for lunch after his interview and then give him a ride to the airport, then head back to the Oak Park area to go to class.
Get well soon, Max!!
