I know! On the one hand, I'd really like for my tap water to remain non-flammable, but OTOH...THE FRACKING MORATORIUM BILL. Does nobody in government watch SyFy?
This issue would make for a sensational congressional hearing, asking lots of questions about fracking.

My first exposure to the term was when my neighbor turned to me during a board meeting and asked if I'd ever heard of hydro-fracking. I told him I didn't think that was an appropriate question in mixed company.

In other bright news, Amtrak is sending me a voucher for about 75% of my ticket price, for the trip that took almost 9 hours instead of 4. I really thought they would tell me to fuck off, since it wasn't their fault.

Some places have "deathwatch books" in various stages of completion, too -- Kensington had a list of people likely to die soonish and every once in a while we'd have to discuss who we should/could preparing a book about.

News outlets (papers, TV networks, etc.) always have obits of prominent people written way ahead of time. Which is creepy and morbid, but makes total sense.

Yep, we have deathwatch lists with clip reels ready to go. Morbid, but profitable. Not sure if Steinbrenner was on our list, though!
