Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Scrappy, it really did. It was completely revolting. At times, a strip would start and self peel the rest of the way down the post.
Ick, Cash. This is why my mother says money doesn't buy class. Also, I just mocked someone who called POTUS a "douchebag." I liked it, too. It may not have been the serious policy critique I wished I could dish out when I thought I'd grow up to be Chris Hayes, but obviously he wasn't looking to replicate the Lincoln-Douglas debates, although I understand "Douchebag" featured pretty heavily in the run-up to the Missouri Compromise.
Happy birthday Dillo & Abby! Belated thank you to Nilly for the early birthday wishes.
Kale chips?
I can't believe it is time for msbelle to move!!!
I think I would like peeling the paint, because I freakishly love peeling sunburn. It has been years since I or anyone I know well enough to peel has had sunburn, but I really love it!
My BFF's husband took a picture of me, which he turned into a line drawing on his iPhone, and it looked IDENTICAL to my mother to me. Of course, I am the same age now as my mother was when I was 8, so this is how I tend to think of her. My friend Maria (who has now met my mom) said she found our resemblance uncanny, and it is funny, especially since I don't know my father, how much I resemble my mom, as if there was no one else involved in my genes. I see little differences-- my nose turns up a bit where hers doesn't, she has a bit mor of a chin, but I have better teeth (mostly thanks to orthodontia), but it is funny. My mom was much cuter as a little girl (she looked a lot like Anne Frank), but I think I look better as an adult due to my teeth.
I like peeling stuff too, but this makes SUCH a mess. That metal trashcan in the pictures? 2/3 full of paint. If I tried to lift the bag out, it might break.
I think I missed a lot of birthdays- so Happy Birthday to sarameg, Dillo, Abby, and everyone else I forgot.
And a hivemind question-- the song Jackson (Johnny and June)-- she says 'I'm going to snowball Jackson...". The only meaning of snowball that I know is the Urban Dictionary type meaning. What the heck does she mean?
Snowball Jackson? I'm not sure where that is in the song, Sophia? She says "throw the top back/and roll down to Jackson-town/wanna be there on the stage with you..." etc? Is that where you mean?
It is right before "see if I care?" I think I am probably mishearing lyrics!!
ETA:
Well, go on down to Jackson; go ahead and wreck your health.
Go play your hand you big-talkin' man, make a big fool of yourself,
You're goin' to Jackson; go comb your hair!
Honey, I'm gonna snowball Jackson.
See if I care.
