Punishingly Intricate

I have eaten half a sandwich and two pieces of candy since Tuesday. And I'm scared to leave my desk.

Even if you can't leave your desk you should be able to order food and have it sent there, right?!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I want to try a Toronto, that sounds up my alley. Guessing it would be not dissimilar to a Manhattan.

WRT the suicide while sleepwalking article: a few years ago I saw a documentary on people who've killed or tried to kill someone in their sleep. Freaky.

Ooh, I saw that. No wait, that was L&O.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

If I had known, ita, I would have brought you food because I was at LAX today and could have fed you too.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I went into the office for 2 hours today. Did not really chat with anyone, just went through papers on my desk and dealt with a few things. Found out that I really need to go in tomorrow also. Feh. 2 more hours should do it with the actual paper stuff, everything else can be done remotely.

I posted some stuff as available on my neighborhood listserve and 1 bag has already been claimed: 3 pieces of clothing and 2 games. Rawk!

10 of the 26 ebay things are now selling and there is less than a day left on the auctions.

Just called the movers to see if I could get times for the packing on Monday and load on Tuesday, turns out I am not in the computer for Monday. My exact words to them, " Well Crap!". Apparently someone else is going to call me back momentarily and get it all sorted. Now I am feeling better about doing so much of the packing myself.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Odd headline o' the day: Psychic Octopus Received Death Threats

The psychic octopus known for his amazingly accurate World Cup predictions has received death threats, the Telegraph reports. Paul, the oracle octopus whose prescient premonitions perfectly predicted the outcome of all six German World Cup games, first generated anger from Argentinian fans who believe his percipient pick doomed Argentina in the quarterfinals.

Paul's keeper in Oberhausen, Germany said "there are always people who want to eat our octopus but he is not shy and we are here to protect him as well. He will survive."

Paul's powers reached a new level on Wednesday, when his bold pick against his current home country proved correct, bringing his World Cup record to a jaw-dropping six for six.

The beautiful and brilliant octopus accurately predicted all four of Germany's victories, as well as their upset loss to Serbia and semifinals defeat at the hands of Spain.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That sucks about the movers, msbelle. Hope they straighten it out.

Ooh, I saw that. No wait, that was L&O.

heh. I saw a tv show with a similar premise. But the real stories were much more interesting. Sad. Several people's lives ruined.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeesh, I somehow missed the story of Elaine Parent the identity thief who targeted single women, murdered them and stole their identities.

She's like a real life Tom Ripley.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's a pisser, msbelle.

I have a muffin. Now all I need is an appetite. And for my damned doctor's office to call in a painkiller refill. And for there to be enough time this weekend for me to get to the ER.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's like bookwork Christmas. In preparation for summer vacation I've been ordering a book or two a month for the past several months. And the only way I knew I'd hold off on reading them was to leave them in their boxes. I just finished opening boxes of books to take up to MI tomorrow. Mmmmmmm, book-o-licious!

Anyway, southeastern Michiganistas (and those nearby), are we still planning on meeting up in Ann Arbor a week from tomorrow, maybe at Aims'? If life's happened and people will be doing other things, I'll totally understand. But if we're still on it would be great to get some contact info and maybe some slightly firmer plans, please. My profile addy's good.
