Our wings are not tired.

Originally posted in tech, but I am moving it:

I don't know if this counts as techy, but about 4 months ago, I decided to stop my Starbucks in the morning habit. I was going in every day for a Misto (au lait) and one of their sandwiches (on my way to the office). I needed to quit this expensive habit. I made coffee in the mornings at my house, but what I really craved was the steamed milk - hence the Starbucks stop.

I went to Macy's ostensibly to buy a combo espresso machine, but I realized I didn't need the espresso part. So I bought this: [link]

(I don't have any other Keurig products - I just use the steamed milk with some French-pressed coffee.)

It's worked perfectly. I haven't stopped at Starbucks in the morning since, and I make my sandwiches at home.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The 10 Best Pubs in Literature.

Erin will be pleased to see the inclusion of Chaucer, JZ of Dickens.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That linky no work, java.

One of my exes loved steamed milk with vanilla, so I found her an old fashioned, stovetop milk steamer at Cookin' the store of Used Gourmet Appurtences.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For the record, today is the perfect summer day here. Not too hot, not too humid, nice and sunny.

Our wings are not tired.

Ooops, I just copied and pasted from the tech thread. Thanks, Hec, let me revise.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just requested access for a clinical database. To set up my account, I provided the usual information. They also asked me to provide an initial password.

...Which they said I would be asked to change as soon I logged in for the first time.

What the fuck is the point of making me come up with a password if I'm just going to change it immediately? Why not just give me a dummy password when I sign up LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD?

Sometimes I don't understand people. (These same people decided to spring UAT on us today without any warning. And the edit checks I reviewed were atrocious.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am currently emailing someone named Morgan. Neither of us knows the other's gender! Hee.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just went to KFC for lunch. They told me the last time I was there (which was about 3 weeks ago) they had forgotten to give me my corn on the cob, so they gave me a free one.

I had completely forgotten about it. Cool that they remembered.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Most of the Morgans I know are female, but my family skews that a bit because of giving the family name to a girl not born into it.
