This episode said that Yukon Golds were good because they held their shape and had more flavor than either reds or russets, which is why they were better for potato salad in particular.
Yeah, they've got articles on Red Bliss and russets that say exactly the same thing. I conclude from this that all potatoes are pretty freaking delicious.
My only advice for a vinaigrette-based salad is not to use balsamic, like I did, because while delicious, it makes the potatoes ugly.
Although ... if you're doing a menu of all-one-color foods, it might be useful.
dear lord, the guy down the hall from me has no AC and wanted me to come in and chat. sorry dude, no way.
I just spent about ten seconds in the kitchen decanting the ice cream from the ice cream maker into a freezing container and ZOMGWTFHEAT. I scooped as fast as I could and still wound up pouring ice cream soup into the tupperware. We'll see how it turns out.
My bedroom AC tells me it's down to 82 in here and it feels heavenly.
My boss just wondered if he put his foot in his mouth calling me and the male developer "guys." Dude, you told me not to wear underwear as outerwear this morning. I think we're good.
Hell, the I've just realised the rest of the project team seems to have loosened up exponentially. I now know who has twitter, the f-bomb has been tossed, not to mention I've been pointed towards a NSFW video. This is what the weeks before go-live to do to people, huh?
Still, I totally effed up in not telling him something important ahead of time. I feel like a doof. Bad PM! Bad, bad PM!
Thank you, Liese, I think. I just ordered a Fizzy Water / Soda kit from SodaStream. Definitely more than I was expecting to spend today but damn if it won't save me a ton of money in the long run. For some reason I never realized before that they had cola-similar options as well. Nifty!
DH drinks a TON of soda and I will NOT miss the various cans and plastic bottles left around the house or filling up the recycle containers.

And I won't miss lugging those bottles home either.
Given that we're on our first heatwave, I just wish I already had mine. Fizzy ftw.
Does fizzying up your own drinks leave them with a mineral residue taste? Because I've become quite addicted to anything that passes as fizzy fruit juice, and I'm probably spending way too much money on Izze. I tried diluting juice with tonic or other fizzy water (since I dilute juice with normal water anyway), but it ended up tasting too salty. In fact, I don't actually like most of the fizzy juice drinks, just Izze and the World Market brand.
