And in other news...
No matter how much culling you do ahead of time, when it comes time to unpack there's loads of "I packed that? Seriously?"
Right??
I just got the most pathetic/cute email from the guy who organized the tour -- they are in a PANIC because they can't figure out how to make books out of their pictures, and everyone thinks I'm a tech wizard (the "benefit" of being 20+ years younger than everyone else....), so I offered to go over and help. Because I am a SAINT.
Oh Kate, how terrible. Deepest sympathies for Mark, his family, and everyone close to Joey. Strength and peace to all of you.
Oh God, Kate, that's horrible. I'm so sorry.
There's a downside to turning the house you moved out of over to relatives. You know the stuff you *didn't* bring, and the *perfect* spot or use for it in the new house. So you resist and try to find local substitutes or upgrades. But then you wind up arranging to have things mailed. Or worse, shipped, for more than the actual value of the things.
Moral? Sell what you leave behind and make it irretrievable. Man, that Victorian pressback rocker is *haunting* me! My rainstick! The skipole walking sticks! And, and, and...
On the other hand, yes, there are boxes of stuff I'm donating--I brought this, WHY?--not even letting them find temporary shelter in the loft lest they grow roots and refuse to leave.
Kate, I'm so sorry. Coping vibes to all who know / love Mark.
Oh, kate. I'm so sorry. There are no words. Sending you all peace
My deepest sympathies Kate to you and Mark's family.
Kate, I am so sorry for your loss and Mark's.
